Hopefully everyone likes bananas, because for the next few posts you're gonna have them coming out your ears! Bananas... How to Serve Them is a great 50+ page booklet of banana recipes published in 1940 by the Home Economics Department, NY NY. Everything is covered, from entrees to breads, to desserts, ice creams, shakes, sauces, salads, sandwiches and more! And if for some reason you're not a banana flavor fan, but instead like cute illustrations, this heavily used/stained book o'mine is overflowing with fun images of bananas doing banana things in their natural banana habitat, like: juggling, smoking cigars, conversing with bacon, directing traffic, painting, sunbathing, pranking each other with buckets of glaze dumped on each other, etc! Come back in a few days for a bunch more (get it?) banana laughs and dynamite delicacies!
To be continued...
And as usual with recipe booklet posts here at AEET, please drop us a comment here if you try out any of these recipes! THANKS!!

ReplyDeleteI guess that guy on the bottom of page two could either be the Planters Peanut Man dressed up in a costume or a banana dressed as the Peanut Man. Or copyright infringement.
ReplyDeleteI like the way that horse is looking at the banana feeding him. He looks kind of skeptical about the whole thing.
Yes, we have no bananas...;)
ReplyDeleteSomething tells me Chiquita Banana isn't proud someone else is taking all the glory!
