Candy Containers: Holiday Edition

Last month I showed you an assortment of fun plastic candy containers HERE, and now with xmas on the horizon, I have a few more of them assembled into a nice little holiday theme. We'll start with xmas and a badly painted Santa, as well as a couple of neat examples of snowmen --one with a rather melty case of explosive, sugar ball diarrhea -- eeek! --and one you can make jump around when you push up on the lever attached to his feet. I've also included some Halloween and Easter bunny containers because, yeah, those holidays are a long way away, --who knows if I'll even remember to post about them when the time comes! And yes, you can also make that wicked witch dance around by lighting the whole thing on fire. "Some traditions never die..." giggled the skull.

  1. That snowman .... wow. I've seen some frightening imagery on your blog but that was the first time I felt queasy!

I really like that Santa. It's like the Thing trying to mimic Santa and I'm all here for that. I am surprised they didn't cheap out and just use the same body but a different head.

OK I have to ask -- is the snowman ... goo ... hard ... i.e., re-solidified after it melted? I kind of half to know! If it's still liquid get it out of the house *now*!

    1. It is quite petrified at this point. Don’t need to worry at all, —but of course that is something the thing would say, right?

  2. These are neat, each one a candy container and a toy all rolled up into one.

Considering the snowman for a minute, the one who still has the label attached- with the way he wears his hat at an angle it reminds me of Jack from Jack in the Box restaurant/fast food place.

I also like the witch/acrobat. The choice of colors makes her appear to either be a candle or candy corn.

I wonder where these novelty candy holders have been hiding all these years. I know many people are pack rats or hoarders, it just seems a little surprising someone would have held onto these things, and not have eaten the candy when it was still fresh.

Great finds for the holiday season, and the holidays to come. Thanks for the post.

  3. It's entertaining to know that a snowman melt guts first.

I really love the Easter Bunny's suit sculpt. That is one dapper rabbit. In the age of sofubi, I think that thing would look right at home on the shelf beside other works of soft vinyl artwork.

Those wee googly eyes on the skull are pretty fab too.
