As I finish up work on a larger post (coming soon), I thought I'd quickly share this incredible cabinet card that I picked up yesterday at the outdoor antique sale during the yearly Lafayette Square Home and Garden Tour here in St. Louis, MO. That hair and expression-- boy, ain't she adorable? And since this was found locally, I'm assuming the studio name at the bottom of the card was likely the same named Victorian era location established around 1890 by German immigrant, Frank Reime, right across the 'ol Mississippi River in Belleville, IL. More info on Reime Studios HERE.

The embossing is really on point. Is that a gray speckle color or is the card material also pitted so it gives off that look? That's some fine work.
The card itself has a very nice texture to it
This picture is not only in perfect condition it is a sharp clear image. From my pre teen years of fooling around with 126 cameras I know how easy it is to take a less than perfect picture. I have also seen portrait studio photos from the 80's and 90's that are not as sharp and clear as this is. Frank Reime was a master at his craft.
Pretty neat. Seems almost brand new. I mean, are there some signs of ageing when you look at this thing in person? Because in the photo I'm seeing nothing. Nice find.
Nope, clean as a whistle. I've seen quite a few other Reime Studio cabinet cards and agree, the photography seems miles above most other studios of the era. Thanks for the comments!
