Frostee

When the weather is this hot, the only thing to do is get "Frostee"-- and Mr. Karswell has just the thing: homemade ice cream!!! Definitely one of the more adorably illustrated mid century recipe booklets I've collected over the years, and boy oh boy, this one from Lipton has the added bonus of milkshakes, cakes, puddings and puffs, and even fabulous foam sauce recipes! What's foam sauce anyway, you ask? No idea-- but it's time to get "Foamee" too!

  1. Lipton??? I guess they made more than soup back in the day.

I love the Delicious Homemade Milkshakes kid! Too bad he doesn’t have a stripey straw.

  2. I love all the "happy homemaker" illustrations, and, of course, dads get in on it being nosy. Hey, help make something, you lazy slob!

  3. When I think of Lipton, I think of tea. So here's an idea for Iced Tea Frostee: Just take one package of Frostee and a cup and a half of cold milk and prepare according to package directions. After whipping, fold in a number of iced tea bags! A perfect refresher for whiling away long summer days enjoying your suggestive fruit array!
