Jack & Jill Halloween '63

The leaves are changing, and there's a chilly shift in the air-- that can only mean one thing as we creepy-crawl our way even farther into the holiday spirit of things with more Halloween party fun and games, recipes, and spooky kooky arts 'n crafts! Ten terrifying pages from the Oct '63 issue of Jack and Jill kid's magazine, and let's kick it off with a petrifying poem-- everyone must sing!

  1. Well, the kids' pictures are the clear winners today (even though the pumpkin games kids are also really great). Six-year-olds love witches! Waiting patiently for the riddle answers over here. No pressure.

  2. yeah those kids playing the paper pumpkin games are way cute - but man i seriously love the little elfen creatures jumping around the jack o lantern in the very first image.

    and yeah i suck at riddles. we need the answers STAT!!!!

  3. What? No one's into the Clown Salad???

    Well I hate to be the halloween downer, but there are no answers given in this issue for the riddles, I pretty much looked on every page. So whoever answers said riddles with the most inventive, interesting, and / or terrifying answers gets a FREE issue of the HAUNTED HORROR HALLOWEEN SPECIAL issue.

    1) spirit gum.
    2) kittens.
    3) because without its tail it's nothing. Course, the same could be said for 6.
    4) because the leaves are read.
    5) a house cat.

    But you're all on your own when it comes that that weird rebus.
