Beans

Art highlights (and a couple of recipes) from this super fun, 38 page BEANS booklet published by the Michigan Bean Shippers Association of Saginaw, Michigan (date and artist unknown.) Also includes interesting facts and a little bit of history about beans, --and oh man, don't miss the scoop on the Bean Queens at the very end of the post!

  1. wow. i absolutely love the art in this!

the dancing people from around the world are seriously fab! and the cans! man!

and i am equally fascinated and perplexed by the beans and meatballs recipe - mostly because of all the uncooked and undrained fatty meat. i am seriously going to have to try that.

oh and yes, the bean queens are really great. too bad they dont have a bean tiara or bikini though.

    1. Is a weenkini made of wieners? May as well just go nude!

  3. I like the dancing cans a lot too. But I do feel it's worth pointing out that, when your character is basically just a big head with arms and legs coming out of the corners, this style of drawing a cleft chin looks even more scrotumlike than it usually does.

I think they should all have their tongues wagging out.
