Trolleri (Magic) Katalog '47 PART ONE

Today we have the first half of a super 1940's magic catalog from Swings in Stockholm. It's 60+ pages loaded with mysterious tricks and great magician clipart imagery-- and if you can read Swede that's a bonus for you! We'll have the second half of the katalog in our next post. Underbar!

  1. Neat find. Reminds me of those ads in comic books and Johnson Smith catalogs. I wonder how many young would-be magicians in Sweden pestered their parents to buy them these tricks.

  4. Ha! I'd been putting this one off because there was so much of it and I just knew it was going to take forever to read it all. Not that I'd have had a choice; this kind of thing--and Don Post catalogs--would've been the very best way to lure Young Cavin into the windowless van. So it is with a rising feeling that I discover I can't understand a single word of it, leaving me open to concentrate on the awesome art! I think that very first header at the top of the third image is my favorite. Neat find, Karswell!

  5. Yeah, the header banners are my favorite part of this katalog too... a few of these illustrations would make great tee shirt designs, no? I should have part two up by Tues.

    Thanks for the comments!
