I'll have Part Two uploaded sometime Tues afternoon hopefully (scanning these actually takes alot more time that you can imagine).

A few notes about some of Part One:

1. I can't remember how old I was when I got this sexy card from my aunt, and as much as I loved it, you know my mom HATED it with equal force.

2. In perfect Auntie contrast, I got this groovy card from my other aunt.

3. Yes, the pink dino on the front of this card is FUZZY!!

9. Yep, that's a real plastic bubble on the front of the card-- I love cool additions like this on greeting cards!!

11. I hope everyone read the tiny insert diet weight loss booklet, it's truly hysterical!

12. This old card from either the 1930's or 40's was obviously illustrated by Al Columbia in a previous life.Mr. Karswellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15889717828895556186noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2136311233296776036.post-89157641766421735832011-05-02T18:13:50.762-05:002011-05-02T18:13:50.762-05:00belated Birthday wishes, mein freund!belated Birthday wishes, mein freund!Prof. Grewbeardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16132543249418576650noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2136311233296776036.post-37977789718059743732011-05-01T16:02:22.205-05:002011-05-01T16:02:22.205-05:00Happy Birthday. I think I'm detecting a trend in my own tastes that I never really knew about, but I think my very favorite thing here is those clothes on that second, Beatles-inspired card. Like the Bavarian roadsters and that Easter Cowboy that you posted previously, there is just something about the attention to colorful textile patterns that I'm really digging. though I think I would have had to draw an aftermarket Scoobie Doo on there just to shake up the pop cultural mash (much like I'd have had to pen a Dino onto that caveman card). Great selections!Mr. Cavinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01634994342702518448noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2136311233296776036.post-2225239793793566632011-05-01T14:05:40.358-05:002011-05-01T14:05:40.358-05:00Hey! Since I go way back I'd have my own collection of vintage cards.

But I digress...for some reason I like the great drawing on the cannibal card the most, even though it's the most incorrect. You just wouldn't see anything like this today outside of the KKK bookstore.Pappyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01977289662431694607noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2136311233296776036.post-68101618920292527962011-05-01T00:26:32.129-05:002011-05-01T00:26:32.129-05:00Well, that top one certainly stands out! As a youngster, I wanted to be a paleontologist. And an astronaut. I was going to be one of the first people to explore the entire solar system, I tell ya!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06857378831052530432noreply@blogger.com
